I don’t get worked up about Valentine’s Day. As a single mom of 3 boys, I don’t play the ‘whoa is me’ card cause I don’t have anyone to spoil me. It’s just another day. Another day that I’m reminded I have a blessed life to get to celebrate this holiday in fun ways with the 3 most important people in my life. We do celebrate Valentine’s Day… with a meal filled with hearts and lots of red and pink. And on St. Patrick’s Day we have a green meal. It’s just what we do.
This year, we acknowledged this holiday by going to church and being filled up by the One who loves us unconditionally, spraying pink and purple silly string, a few pieces of candy, chocolate covered strawberries and a dinner that included fruit in the shape of a heart with cool whip around it, red heart shaped cake that the boys helped ice and decorate, a meal of red foods, and had 2 extra boys at our house for a sleepover which included snow angels while in swimsuits then jumping in the hot tub, nerf gun wars, and sledding. I’m exhausted.
So here’s our day in pictures. I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day and have a fantastic week. Be sure to check the blog out Thursday. The first of our monthly book giveaways is being announced!
